The heart of Haridwar is Har Ki Pauri. Every evening, a grand Ganga Aarti takes place—priests perform rituals with fire lamps, chants, and bells.
Haridwar hosts the massive Kumbh Mela. It happens once every 12 years. Considered the largest religious gathering in the world. Millions gather to bathe in the Ganga during this period.
Haridwar has a very different feel compared to hill stations:
Deeply spiritual and traditional
Streets full of temples, ashrams, and pilgrims
Simple food—mostly pure vegetarian
Constant sound of bhajans and temple bells
